Detection of sections with slightly changed optical characteristics in fiber optical communication lines

Experimental researches results of bends and microbends impacts of optical fibers on Brillouin reflectograms are presented in this paper. Various ways of organization information interception from the optical fiber are analyzed. The unauthorized access detecting problems to fiber optical communication lines are considered. Results of tests confirmed advantage of the Brillouin reflectometry method for early diagnostics and detection of “problem” sections in fiber-optical communication lines.
