GPR data processing for evaluation of the subsurface cracks in road pavements

Problem of positioning and identification of subsurface cracks in asphalt concrete pavement layers is considered. To solve the problem, the use of the polarization state of the reflected signals (recording the cross-polarization component of the signal) is proposed. The algorithms for determination of the depth of the subsurface cracks and comparative algorithm for estimating crack width are developed. Results of numerical simulation, laboratory tests, as well as the results of experiments on inspection of roads are presented.
