Femtocell channel allocations that reduce interferences and optimize bandwidths

Channel allocation possibilities of femtocells are analyzed in this work. Femtocells have gained importance in the recent times because of their scope to offer better frequency reuse in cellular systems. They are poised to play their prominent role in future 5G systems also. While allocating the operating frequencies to femtocells, care needs to be taken to avoid interference with neighboring femtocells and macro-cell connected users. The scenarios of numerous femtocells operating in the same vicinity are analyzed in this work, to analyze the effect of interference, probability of service blocking and utilization of available bandwidth. Through this analysis, optimum values of the number of femtocells and bandwidth allocations can be obtained, for the available vacant channels in that location.
