A low power circuit of a leaky integrate and fire neuron with global reset

A neuron circuit is a basic processing module which is used to implement a neuromorphic chip. In this paper, a low power circuit of leaky integrate and fire (LIF) neuron is proposed. It is a compact circuit, which is designed and simulated in a 0.18μm CMOS technology. The static power is about 35pW and it consumes around 2pJ/spike. It also provides a global reset which is used as a lateral inhibitory connection in a WTA module.
