A new approach for investigation of aerodynamic performances of a Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine for different Reynolds numbers

The manuscript presents an analysis of the aerodynamic behavior of a Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) using a new approach to evaluate the fluid mechanics parameters. Based on the Blade Element Momentum theory (BEM), this analysis leads to determine a detailed algorithm containing all steps needed to achieve an optimal design including the correction factors in order to straighten the weaknesses of the BEM theory, then an Excel file is realized to calculate loads acting on the wind turbine and to determine the optimal aerodynamic performances following an iterative approach and taking into account the variation of Reynolds numbers.
