Active implantable medical device EMI estimation for EV-charging WPT system based on 3D full-wave analysis

A numerical assessment methodology of active implantable pacemaker EMI triggered by wireless power transfer system for electric vehicle charging is presented. A numerical model that consists of electric vehicle wireless power transfer system and a human phantom is developed and used in the simulation. The interference voltages induced at the implantable pacemaker model are obtained using three dimensional full-wave numerical simulations based upon the finite element method. We assume realistic exposure scenarios, when the orientation and location of the human are varied, in order to develop conservative estimates of the interference voltage.
