Alarm monitoring and safety control system for a 13C isotope separation cascade system

C is a non-harmful, stable isotope that has essential uses in various fields of science: biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical research, medicine and different fields of engineering. Being very rare, a separation process is needed to obtain high concentration quantities. The automation of such a process is a challenge in the field of control engineering. This paper discusses the separation system, particularly the monitoring and the safety control of the process together with future controller models.
