Decentralized control strategies evaluation for an Integrated Urban Wastewater System

This paper presents an Integrated Urban Wastewater System based on the interconnection of two benchmark models used in the case of sewer networks and wastewater treatment plants. Some control strategies are applied for the sewer network and the wastewater treatment plant and analyzed considering the resulted integrated system. The final aim is to improve the knowledge regarding the interaction between the two sub-systems, and, especially, to see the influence of the control actions implemented at the sewer network level over the performances of the wastewater treatment plant.
