Simple design method for cosec square with null-fill in equispaced linear array

This paper proposes a simple design method to synthesize null filled cosec square shaped pattern. In equispaced N-element linear array, null fill pattern is given by a linear magnitude distribution with slope of 1/N. In addition, a quasi cosec square pattern is synthesized by adjusting the phase of the first and second element. To demonstrate the simplicity of the proposed method, synthesized patterns are compared with conventional approaches.
