Standing wave method calibration for spatial resolution of near-field probes

“Spatial resolution” is an important technical parameter of the near-field probes, especially in the board-level Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) problem analysis, the high spatial resolution is very important to locate the position of the emission source. In this paper, the basic connotation of spatial resolution of near-field probe is given firstly. And then taking Coplanar Waveguide with Grounded (CPWG) as a typical example, a method of calibrating for the spatial resolution of the near-field probes, while being in the standing wave state, is proposed based on transmission line theory.
