Optimization of the solar thermal collectors integration in buildings for DHW production

This paper presents the first results obtained in the frame of an international project of collaboration between Romania, Bulgaria and France concerning the integration of renewable energy systems into buildings and urban areas. The study is focused on the dynamic simulations of the energy performance resulting from the use of a solar thermal system designed for the DHW production, in the case of an existing building. Three influence factors have been analyzed during this multi-parametric study: the collectors cardinal orientation, the local climate and the DHW consumption profiles, retaining two daily and annual DHW profiles: office and residential, for the same daily hot water consumptions. The results show strong dependencies of the solar system energy performance with these factors.
