Resource allocation for energy-efficient device-to-device multicast communication

Device to Device (D2D) multicast communication is an effective method for local transmission. In this paper, a joint power and resource allocations scheme is proposed to maximize the number of accessed D2D groups while minimizing the total terminal transmission power for D2D underlay multicast communication. Since the derived optimization is a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem with high computational complexity, we divide it into two sub-problems. Then the proposed scheme is composed of two phases. In Phase 1, power allocation scheme for each D2D group and each cellular user (CU) is solved with geometric programming method. In Phase 11, a minimum weighted bipartite graph matching method is applied to produce optimal resource allocation scheme for admitted users and D2D groups. Simulation shows our scheme obtains more users and less energy consumption.
