The effect of alternative power distribution supply to reliability indexes at Mahasawat water treatment plant

This study presents the effect of supplying electrical ways in power electrical distribution system (PDS) to reliability indexes by alternating closed breakers in the water production plant. PDS in Mahasawat water treatment plant (MHS) is proposed as a case study. PowerFactory DIgSILENT program is used and simulated to find the result of alternative breakers to be closed or opened through Customer Average Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI) and Total Energy Not Supplied (TENS) indexes. Currently, Outage Management System (OMS) applied in MHS and emphasized on duration time that operators and maintenance teams travel and arrive at faulty location (waiting time) and switch breakers for turning the production process normal (switching time). These times affect to CAIDI and TENS of the supplying electrical ways. The ways are exampled to be the perspectives shown in this study. However, breaker interlocking between incoming breakers at all load stations and irreversible power to the main buses at the substation are conditioned. Failure rate, cable length and load consumption of all stations are focused for calculating the result. As a result, CAIDI and TENS of all perspectives are graphed and compared together in varying waiting and switching time and finally they will be discussed.
