Linear combination of local cross-correlation detectors in passive multistatic radar

Much attention has been focused on the applications of the passive multistatic radar due to its numerous advantages. A linear combination framework for target detection in the passive multistatic radar is proposed here to improve the detection performance. In our framework, the individual test statistics are computed through cross-correlation, then these test statistics from spatially separated receivers are linearly combined to get global decision. A modified deflection coefficient is employed as an optimization criterion for the selection of the weighting coefficients. Particularly, the weighting coefficients are given in closed form which is computationally efficient to calculate. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed approach outperforms its counterparts.
