Intellert: a novel approach for content-priority based message filtering

With the advent of communication media, a large upheaval in the volume of text messages has been observed in recent years. Messages are exchanged by mobile phone users to facilitate the speedy exchange of information. However, some messages are not solicited in every situation. Delivery of irrelevant/spam messages in a particular scenario often leads to the frustration of users. Also, it is of utmost importance that the relevant and significant messages get delivered to the users at appropriate instances. This can be made possible by developing a mechanism which scrutinizes the incoming text messages and delivers them based on their relevance and priority. In this paper, we propose a machine learning approach which would enable the categorization of text messages based on their content and deliver them according to appropriate priorities.
