Embedded system for an airborne payload to determine cosmic ray flux

Radiation due to high energy Cosmic Ray particles is known to cause anomalies in the electronic devices. As the devices get smaller the effects could lead to drastic results. A near space experiment was designed to study the variation of the cosmic rays with altitude. This paper presents the details of the experiment focusing on the embedded system designed specifically for the experiment. The data acquisition system and power supply circuits have been discussed along with various precautions that are needed to ensure precision measurements of the experiment.
