Multifactor initial placement of IC cells

A method for multifactorial placement of logical cells of integrated circuits (ICs) is proposed that provides joint consideration of total length of interconnection, circuit performance and topological uniformity of thermal field on IC surface. The mathematical form of the proposed criterion is an additive function of particular single-factor criteria, which allows the use of sequential algorithms for placement of IC cells.
