An Adaptive DTN Routing Protocol Considering Replication State

Recently, Delay / Disruption / Disconnection Tolerant Networking (DTN) which aims to enable communication under poor communication environments has been attracting attention. In DTN, direct communications among nodes are performed and messages of a node are replicated among nodes. This operation is repeated until a message is arrived at a destination node. Therefore, it is important to decide replication nodes. Especially, since the number of appropriate replications is different by network environment, a flexible routing protocol is important. In this paper, we propose an adaptive DTN routing protocol which dynamically controls the number of replications considering replication state. By simulation, we verified that the proposed routing protocol is superior than conventional routing protocols.
