Open System Interconnection for Energy: A Reference Model of Energy Internet

Energy Internet is the development trend of future energy system. The paper compared the difference between Energy networks and Energy Internet firstly, and analyzed the concept and connotation of the Energy Internet. Based on the comparison result of different features between Energy Internet and Information Internet, then proposed a five-layer reference model for Energy Internet on the basis of Open System Interconnection, what are Access Layer, Distribution and Control Layer, Transmission Layer, Strategy Layer and Application Layer, the functions and services of each layer were defined accordingly. Finally, three key devices, Energy Switch, Energy Router and Energy Gateway, which were used to construct Energy Internet, were explored and summarized.
