Dual-band dipole antenna loaded with Metamaterial based structure

In this paper, a new double-sided printed dipole antenna loaded with balanced Capacitive Loaded Loops (CLLs) as Metamaterial structure is presented. The antenna can only work in a single frequency of 2.5GHz before unloading the metamaterial. Metamaterials placed close to the edge of the printed antenna caused the antenna to radiate at two different frequencies, one of which is lower frequency is caused by the self-antenna. The other one is caused by the metamaterials. The antenna has been designed to work in mobile communication and medical system.
