Design of dual-band CPS-fed dipole antenna for 2.4/5.2 GHz WLAN operation

This paper presents a balanced dipole antenna fed by coplanar strips for dual-band applications. The bandwidths can be determined from return loss which was less than 10 dB. The operation in the WLAN frequency bands were 2.40-2.484 GHz and 5.15-5.35 GHz, respectively. Moreover, the antenna is a simple planar structure and occupies a small size of about 48 mm × 16 mm including the finite ground coplanar strip line feeding.
