Abstract:

This paper proposes a compact sized, high frequency microstrip patch antenna with probe feeding. The patch of the antenna is pentagonal shaped which has a t-slot in the upper-center. Main contribution of the paper is to perturbe the side edges of the patch and to add a dimond slot. Parametric study of those two-geometrical change was investigated. The proposed structures were simulated by using the Sonnet Suites, a planar 3D electromagnetic simulation software which gave S11 value of -12.77 dB and Gain value of 9.97 dB at 17.1 GHz. This proposed antenna is suitable for singleband wireless communication systems and mobile equipment.
