Abstract:

This paper compares a non-isolated DC/DC converter (interleaved Buck/Boost) and an isolated converter (Dual Active Bridge) in a bidirectional charging application for Electric Vehicles. Both converters are modeled, controlled using small-signal models, and their operation in several modes is simulated and then compared. The results of the comparison using several criteria related to automotive applications are shown and discussed.
