Simulator of the shunting locomotive's electric drive

A simulator of the upgradable shunting locomotive's power portion is under consideration. It is based on the National Instruments firmware. The simulator includes real-time math models of the electric drive's power portions, which were created based on the field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Real-time math models consist of three sets of DC/DC converters, six DC motors and a driven locomotive. The simulator provides solving math model equations with 1μs time step. It is intended for debugging control system of locomotive's electric drive and for study its operation modes.
