Antenna for metal body mobile devices

There is an increased demand of metal back cover mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops. This constrains the antenna design and leaves very small area for antennas. Another practical problem seen is reduction in volume available for antennas while number of bands which are supported in these devices are ever increasing. To mitigate these problems we used metal body of the device itself as an antenna. In this paper we are presenting metal body antenna design and its test results which supports all of existing LTE, GSM and WCDMA bands.
