A trial called quess [The Big Picture]

THE WORLD'S FIRST satellite built specifically with hackers in mind was launched from China in August. The Chinese and Austrian researchers behind the Quantum Experiments at Space Scale, or Quess, hope their work will help improve digital encryption by yielding hack-proof key distribution. Part of the Quess experiment will focus on mastering a phenomenon called quantum entanglement for encryption.
