Metallophone and metal-ceramic cathodes for powerful amplitron

In this article the questions of increase of reliability and durability, high-power pulsed microwave devices M-type. Analysis of the work metal-alloy cathode in the device showed its lack of resistance to a pulsed thermal loads caused by back electron bombardment. The developed design of metal-ceramic cathode unit with water cooling, able to withstand a pulse thermal load and divert from the cathode to 120 W/cm² average power. Applied a new method of impregnating cermet pallet of the active substance. Investigated the ratio of the diameters of the cathode and anode. Optimization of the distance between the cathode and anode has allowed to obtain the highest emission current density and the power output of the device. The result of the research, an assumption was made that the durability of the device with metal-ceramic cathode may be increased in 3–4 times.
