Comparison research on reverberation strength excited by PTFM and CW signals

Pulse trains of frequency modulated (PTFM) signals and continuous waveform (CW) pulses are all speed-sensitive signals that can be used as active transmitted signals. The target detection performance is closely related to the received reverberation strength. However, background environment is often complex and various, so it's difficult to describe practical reverberation through simulated data. Statistical analysis of experimental data is an effective way to compare the differences of reverberation strength excited by PTFM and CW signals. This paper elaborates the experimental conditions and the analytical method. Statistical experimental results show that reverberation strength excited by PTFM is much lower by CW at low speed, so PTFM has more advantages to suppress reverberation.
