LED-induced fluorescence spectroscopy technique for milk freshness detection

A LED-induced fluorescence spectroscopy system is developed to detect milk freshness. In this paper, milk samples stored at room temperature are excited by a LED at 380nm and their fluorescence spectra are detected by a compact spectrometer. The detection is processed at intervals of several hours. The principle component regression(PCR) method is used to establish a predictive model of milk freshness. This system can also be applied to other similar food detections.
