Modeling, simulation and comparison analysis of an installed photovoltaic system using RTDS

This paper presents a real time digital simulation modelling in comparison with measurements of an installed Photovoltaic (PV) system at the Excellence Center in Smart Grids (CERIn) in the Federal University of Itajuba (UNIFEI). Essential for the software configurations, all involved equipment parameters were obtained based on manufacturers' datasheet analysis of the following PV and power system stages: the photovoltaic modules and associations, the two inverters, the substation transformer, the CERIn's load, and the utility power source. The methodology was defined for two different measured scenarios: a cloudy day and a sunny day, with the following input variables: solar irradiance and cell temperature. Therefore, this work presents the control system modeling and simulation, with acceptable convergence compared with reality. Further studies can improve the detailed modeling.
