Research on dynamic invocation method of terrain data in SVS

The pilot real-time perception of the external terrain environment is improved to avoid the collision of civil aircraft. The Synthetic Vision System(SVS) using the three-dimensional(3D) computer image generation technology is applied to provide pilots with surrounding terrain image and comprehensive information display. During the flight, a quick, accurate and effective technology of invocation of terrain data is required for large-scale data transfer. In this paper, a dynamic terrain-data invocation method including block partition call, pre-call and visual cone tailoring technology is proposed. The terrain elevation data is invoked from the corresponding blocks according to block partition call. The butter technology is used to speed up for rendering in the pre-call. Data is selected before display with the visual cone tailoring technology. The result shows that the efficiency of SVS is obviously raised, 3D terrain is showed in real time, and the improvement of visual perception is achieved.
