Design of highly sensitive H-field probes for near-field EMC & HAC assessment

This paper presents the design and analysis of a sensitive miniaturized H-field probe for accurate magnetic near-field measurements in the gigahertz range. The probe performance was verified by measuring near-field electromagnetic field distributions above a half-wave dipole antenna operating at 1.85GHz. Very high sensitivity was obtained from the developed probes. Sensitivity of this probe was found to be better than traditional dosimetric E-field probes. High-sensitivity probes are useful in EMC/EMI assessments.
