Improving bandwidth of single layer diamond shape patch microstrip antenna with strip-via resonators

The effect of rectangular strips with shorted vias on the bandwidth and radiation patterns of V-slotted diamond shape, single layer patch microstrip antenna is studied (Fig. 1). Its impedance bandwidth with linear polarization is increased from around 36 percent to 66% percent.
