UWB antennas time domain characterization

Two UWB antennas have been presented and compared. Classical parameters, as the impedance matching or the maximum level of gain in E-plane and H-plane, have been used. But in order to characterize their transient behaviour, special 2D-view of radiation patterns and phase have been produced. In addition, the transmitted pulse shape is analysed in several directions and compared with the pulse exciting the antenna. This study clearly shows that the wide slot antenna is less dispersive than the planar cone structure. The measured results will be presented during the conference.
