Cellular antenna design with metallic housing for wearable device

In this paper, a loop antenna design for wearable watch device with seamless metal frame was proposed. The cover frequency range of the proposed antenna included 880~960 MHz and 1500~2200 MHz. The analysis of the antenna performance was carried out with wrist worn condition. The comparison result between proposed loop antenna and traditional PIFA are shown. Low band efficiency of proposed loop antenna is around 3~5dB better than PIFA and high band efficiency is around 7~10dB better than PIFA.
