Differential space-time coding for P-MP communications in the presence of fast time-varying beat interference

This paper proposes point to multi-point (P-MP) communication systems for beat interference on fast time-varying fading channels, i.e., fast time-varying beat interference (FTBI) channels. The proposed communication systems employ a demodulation scheme based on channel prediction for differential multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmit diversity (TD) of per transmit antenna differential mapping (PADM). This paper evaluates the proposed systems on FTBI channels for P-MP communication systems, where the multiple base stations (BSs) transmit the same information at the same frequency band. As PADM is one of differential space-time trellis coding (DSTTC), it has to employ per-survivor processing (PSP) for its demodulation. Finally, this paper compares bit error rate (BER) performances of PADM and differential space-time block coding (DSTBC) with and without channel prediction. For 2bps/Hz, computer simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme has excellent BER performance on extremely fast time-varying beat interference of the maximum frequency offset normalized by symbol rate is 6%.
