Efficiency comparison on different network real time kinematic systems

GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) positioning technology is widely used in military and civil area, especially beneficial in surveying field. Recently, the high precision coordinate point can be obtained from GNSS, and replaced the lot of traditional work by total station. Among the new developed technology, Network Real Time Kinematic (RTK) is became the most popular technique in surveying and mapping domain. At present in Taiwan, VBS for National Land Surveying and Mapping Center and FKP for Century Instrument Company, are utilized. In this research, these two systems are compared for showing the efficiency. The same measured point on the same test procedure is applied. Four factors, positioning the convergence time, the shading effect, system cost and coordinate providing method were compared. The results show that the convergence time of VBS positioning system is better, but the FTP in shading effect, system cost is better. For coordinate providing method, coordinate zero in FKP is more reasonable than coordinate transform in VBS.
