Effect of phase shifting on self-imaging in optical multi-mode interference devices

Optical waveguide structures such as Multimode inference (MMI) structures, Y-connectors, splitters, couplers, multiplexers, switches and combiners are widely used for different applications. In this paper, we demonstrate the analytical analysis of effect of phase shifting in multimode inference devices, based on self imaging. This paper shows how self images changes when we introduce phase shift in the phase of input waveguide.
