A proposal of multiple magnets control system for magnetic levitation of large steel plates

Adopting magnetic levitation techniques in process lines for thin steel plates is a good way for maintaining its surfaces quality, although there would be a lot of difficulties in realizing actual process lines. We have already achieved stable magnetic levitation and guidance system for thin small steel plates with four electromagnets so far and now we are planning to realize system-construction for large one levitated with multiple magnets. In this paper, we will propose a new control method for multiple magnet levitation systems and will show its stability for levitation and guidance systems based on many experiments.
