Structural properties — Precursors of adsorptive activity of cadmium chalcogenide new materials

The paper presents an analysis of research results of CdSe, CdTe structural properties (by radiographic and electronic-microscopic methods) and their solid solutions (CdSe)
x
(CdTe)
1−x
of different composition and atomic-molecular (acid-base, adsorptive) interactions on their surface. The nature of property changes with system composition CdSe-CdTe is determined. Close connection between structural and surface properties is defined. This connection allows the absorptive activity to be prevaluated as regards to definite gases. The practical application of the obtained materials in semiconductor gas analysis and heterogeneous catalysis can be prevaluated as well.
