Transforming telco service and resource provisioning

Telecom Operators are going towards future of virtualization and cloud in order to provide new innovative services that are customer centric and to serve not so predictable Internet of Things (IoT). Transformation of Operation Support Systems (OSS) is recognized by TMForum as a key aspect in supporting upcoming technology changes and services agility. This article will show results of OSS transformation use case with wireline Tier 1 Operator with focus on domain of service resource provisioning. Analysis methods, pain points and mitigation solutions will be described. Ericsson Multi Activation solution for subscriber provisioning and device configuration will be presented as a solution to fulfill requirements and challenges to act as central provisioning system in wireline network.
