Design of non-singular two-dimensional layered cloaks mapped from small areas

A singular coordinate transformation leads to singular materials in a transformation-based cloak. If a non-singular transformation is used, the invisibility is affected; it is also influenced by the homogenization process. In this work we investigate these two influences in two-dimensional circular cylindrical cloaks, obtained from different non-singular mappings. Considering a further local search optimization, we also conclude how big the mapping scale can be, without having too much scattering.
