Coupled multiphysics problems as market place for competing autonomous software agents

A novel approach is presented applying capabilities of software agent based programming to numerical field computations. Different solution strategies as well as solver configurations are automatically evaluated and dynamically integrated into the overall solver sequence. This enables a quick provision of results contemplating changes at calculation resource and vague user decisions. The calculation of a 3d bidirectionally coupled nonlinear multiphysics problem shows the characteristics of the developed agent systems and the numerical method.
