Application of TRIZ framework for resolving security issues in IOT

The traditional security mechanisms are not feasible to work with the IOT systems. The ubiquitous sensors are subject to tampering and data can be manipulated as a result. The processing capabilities of the IOT devices are not suitable for the current encryption techniques, also with all the data from the devices being collected the user privacy is at a risk as a result. Additionally, with the peta, zettabytes of data that will be collected through IOT systems effective mechanisms of data management techniques need to be developed. There is an urgent need to find new techniques to find answers to the security challenges and prevent data theft. Considering the above factors, the authors were motivated to find ways to enhance the security system for IOT devices. The authors apply the TRIZ methodology to resolve the underlying contradictions in order to the find the solutions to the problems with IOT devices.
