Emergency Call Using EEG and Android Operation System for Disabled People

It is difficult or impossible for hand disable people to use phone call. To help disable people to live with better experience, an emergency call using EEG and Android operation system is designed and implemented. Three strategies are developed. Firstly, the emergency calling system is embedded into the Android operation system of Pad Phone. Secondly, the influence of the flashing frequencies of stimulator images has been detected. Thirdly, the influences of the light intensities of environments have been researched. From the test result, each one can make the phone call successfully although their operating speed and operating accuracy is different. Furthermore, it is found that the stimulating signal has a more sensitive response to lower frequencies so the stimulating blocks are flashing at the relatively lower frequencies. Besides, the calling speed is affected by the light intensity, and the dimmer light the faster. In addition, it is helpful for the user with short hair to be familiar with the visual stimulator of the system.
