CSAR surface as a radiation scatterer

This research paper utilizes a 3D tetrahedral meshing frequency solver to simulate the electromagnetic effect of circular split asymmetric ring (CSAR) patterned onto a conventional microwave laminate. Behavior of the incident wave was first conducted using a bare flat metal laminate and then compared with a modified tip of CSAR surface. Comparison made between simulation and measured samples working at 5.8 GHz, indicates that. EM flow can be altered to desired angle, split into two direction or multiple direction if the source is positioned correctly. By using the same CSAR surface, if a known EM source is placed at the center, it is found that CSAR perform better as a reflector compared to a flat metal surface The approach of this paper findings can be used to help improve microwave design, enhance specific communication isolation and future millimetre wave applications.
