Study on magnetic properties of flexible graphite composite grounding material

Metal materials such as steel, galvanized steel and copper-clad steel are mainly used in transmission line tower grounding grid. Under lightning current, the resistance of grounding grid presents the impedance characteristics which inhibiting the lightning flow to distal. In order to solve this problem, nonmetal materials such as graphite is selected to produce a new grounding material-flexible graphite composite grounding material (FGCGM). In this paper, the conductivity and magnetic permeability of the material were tested, the article analyzed the electromagnetic parameters impact on tower grounding grid and proposed the optimization measures. The main contents of this paper including: (1) The electromagnetic parameters of flexible graphite composite grounding material were actual measured. (2) The skin effect and inductive effect of the material under high frequency current were compared by the simulation of finite element method.(3)the grounding simulation tests were conducted.
