Novel square/rectangle waveguide septum polarizer

A new square/rectangle waveguide septum polarizer is proposed. The septum is composed of a tapered slot energy collector in the square waveguide part and a slot radiator in the common side of the two rectangle waveguide feeders. Samples were designed, fabricated and measured. Both the simulated data (HFSS) and the experimental data are given to verify the performance. As a result, the 4-port S-parameters show the proposed structure has good performances in the return losses, insertion losses and phase difference.
