Thermometry with optomechanical cavities

The thermally-driven motion of a nanomechanical resonator may be employed as an absolute thermometer. We experimentally measure radiation pressure shot noise induced quantum correlations to absolutely calibrate the motional signal transduced onto an optical probe.
