Intrinsic properties of anisotropic dielectric micro-resonators obtained through near-field terahertz spectroscopy

We demonstrate that mono-crystalline TiO
2
micro-spheres exhibit narrow magnetic dipole resonances at terahertz frequencies with line splitting due to strong material anisotropy of TiO
2
. Clear resonance signatures are detected using near-field terahertz time-domain spectroscopy.
